VALDAFUR is a Romanesque field name and means "valley of the furnace". Once in the nearby VALDAFUR , a side valley of Nauders, the ore was smelted out, which was mined in the surrounding region. Today the VALDAFUR belongs to our ski and mountain hiking area and we decided to adopt the name for our house.
